There are a number of areas of particular interest to the long term tenant in Marbella:
The Old Town This is the old Moorish medina, with a maze of cobbled streets, charming little squares, bars, restaurants and boutiques. This has many of the traditional white-washed houses for rent which have a wonderful traditional feel, yet are in the centre of the action.
The Paseo Maritimo This is a long stretch of promenade along the Mediterranean which is lined with bars and restaurants and offers the most spectacular views. There are many blocks of apartments lining this promenade with long-term rental options, usually with underground parking.
The Modern Town The main road running through the centre of the town is Calle Ricardo Soriano. This and the roads either side (parallel with the sea) represent the bustling heart of modern Marbella filled with shops, restaurants, parks and a wide range of apartments for long-term rental.
The Golden Mile This is the road running from Marbella to Puerto Banus passing through San Pedro which has many luxurious developments with deluxe apartments and stunning villas set back from the road. There are many properties to rent long-term in this exclusive area, all decorated beautifully.
Marbella is very much a year-round destination and there are plenty of things to keep you busy. The beaches and seafront provides a focus of the activity from spring to autumn, there are interesting shops throughout, parks and playgrounds for the kids and special events and parades taking place throughout the year. Cafes, bars and award-winning restaurants can be found everywhere. The nightlife is excellent and buzzing well into the early hours of the morning.
Residents can take advantage of quality healthcare including local health centres, a central private hospital, and the modern Costa del Sol Hospital on the outskirts. For families with children there are a number of International schools within Marbella and the surrounding areas. St. Javier's and Swan's international primary schools and The English International College are excellent schools nearby.
