San Pedro is a town of two distinct halves, divided by the main coastal road. By the sea there are modern developments favoured by the ex-pats that benefit from parking, neutral décor and facilities such as pools and landscaped gardens. On the other side of the road is the original town centre, which is a maze of narrow streets and squares that are predominantly Spanish.

There are some excellent restaurants, cafes and bars in San Pedro and the super-clubs of Puerto Banus are a short taxi-ride away. There are several golf courses nearby, a large sports centre, tennis courts and a swimming pool, as well as great beaches.

In San Pedro itself there are several public and private health clinics, 24-hour chemists and it’s also close to the large and modern Costa del Sol Hospital. There is a leading international school in San Pedro, which has been officially certified by the British Council and caters for international students between 3 and 18. There’s also the Aloha College in Nueva Andalucía and several good schools in Marbella.
