Long Term Rentals in Torremolinos

Torremolinos saw the first package tourists arrive in Southern Spain many decades ago to take advantage of the beaches and sunshine so lacking in Northern Europe. The resort developed fast from a traditional fishing village to a tourist hot-spot and suffered in reputation in later years for its high-rise blocks and over-commercialised feel.

However, if you can overlook your first impressions of the beachfront developments, there’s a lot to love about Torremolinos. Firstly, its proximity to the airport and the beautiful city of Malaga, as well as the short distance to the popular seaside town of Benalmadena, makes it an appealing option. Secondly it has some fantastic beaches, a huge choice of bars and restaurants, including stunning fish restaurants in the La Carihuela district, and more amenities per square centimetre than practically any other town on the Coast.

Recently there has been a lot of investment in the area to improve the town centre and bring its plazas (squares), elegant palm-lined boulevards, and long seaside promenade back to their former glory. This is still a Spanish town at heart with traditional areas and a vibrant commercial centre.

Torremolinos is a family-friendly area with the Torremolinos Aquapark, a theatre, Crocodile Park and of course the beautiful beaches which made this area such a tourist favourite. Nearby Benalmadena also has an ice rink, cable-car and sea-life centre which will keep the whole family entertained. For the adults, there’s a great nightlife with a fun and eclectic selection of restaurants and clubs in the town centre.

Residents of the area can take advantage of shops, banks and well-equipped hospital and private clinic in the town of Torremolinos itself, as well as the services and amenities of Malaga. The area is well-developed to receive foreign residents and has great primary and secondary schools, such as Benalmadena International College and St. George’s International School, which are both an easy drive away.

There are a host of sports facilities and activities including water sports and municipal sports facilities, as well as the region's most advanced and equipped collection of athletic facilities, and several nearby golf courses.

Don’t rule out Torremolinos on appearance and reputation alone it’s a good choice for ex-pat residents looking to rent long-term. Due to the level of development there are many properties available and this has driven the prices down.
