Lend a Hand and Meet New People

If you are looking for a way to meet new people while learning a new skill and benefitting your community then Arboretum Marbella is the answer!

The aim of the charity is to create a more sustainable future by helping communities to take the steps which they need in order to reduce their carbon footprint, benefitting the environment.

There are many events which will be taking place throughout the year, which will allow you to be part of the cause. The “Lend a Hand” event is held on the second Saturday of each month, allowing you to go and help plant some new trees within a newly established forest. You are able to name your tree and then watch it grow.

Another event which may be of interest is the “Gratiferia” which takes place on the first Sunday of each month.  The purpose of the event is to take along any unwanted items which you may have lying around in the back of a cupboard and simply swap them with other peoples items or give them away, free of charge.

If you do not have anything to take along, don’t worry, the event is open to everyone and you are still more than welcome to go along and help yourself to any of the items on display. Free haircuts, fresh lemonade and a belly dancing show were also part of the last Gratiferia, making it a great day out for all.

If you would like to get involved, visit the Arboretum website, the charity are always looking for new volunteers and it is a great way to meet people while helping the local area.
